THE CAUSE

Over fishing, climate change, pollution, and the lack of education have pushed our oceans to the brink of collapse.

We are deeply invested in bringing people who love the ocean together around ocean conservation at our events:
using their energy in their sport, for good. We call this Swimmers for the Sea and invite some of the top athletes to
apply to support this initiative and lead the way.

It is not just a race!

OUR PARTNERS

We partner with like-minded and enthusiastic companies and individuals that share our passion for doing everything with and for a purpose.

It is about putting our energy into something where we can collectively show our commitment to look after our ocean and the diverse communities it connects.

Plastic Oceans International is a nonprofit organization raising awareness about plastic pollution to inspire behavioural change. More than 300 million tons of plastic are produced annually, yet more than 90% of all plastic is not recycled. At least eight million tons of plastic are dumped into the ocean each year—equal to a garbage truck per minute.

Studies find plastic pollutes the air, water and entire food chain, threatening human health, wildlife and the planet. Through solution-focused films and digital content, Plastic Oceans promotes a global movement to rethink plastic.
