In light of the growing concerns around the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the team at Meridian Adventure Race had to make the tough decision to postpone two of the EPICBLUE Series events to 2021 in order to prioritise the health and safety of the international participants, employees, spectators and everyone who help put these events together.

EPICBLUE SwimPaddleRun, Indonesia and EPICBLUE SwimRun, Turkey – will be moved to 2021, whilst the EPICBLUE Finale Ligure will commence as part of the Flow Festival on 27 September 2020.

“Creating events that aim to amplify the cause of creating thriving oceans – and with it, thriving societies – we firmly value the health and wellbeing of the local communities that will be hosting our events, as well as those who travel to join us at these beautiful destinations.” – Matteo, EPICBLUE Series Race Director

The organisers of all three events across the world regret to inform the participants and spectators of the postponement but hope that the extension will invite many more multisport enthusiasts to the areas in 2021. Municipalities, organisations, sponsors and partners agree that safeguarding the health of the local communities, participants and spectators is of utmost importance.

“We agree that every effort to contain the virus and slow the spread saves lives. These efforts give health systems and all of society much needed time to prepare, and researchers more time to identify effective treatments and develop vaccines.” – Matteo, EPICBLUE Series Race Director

Only two EPICBLUE events will be postponed to 2021:

The EPICBLUE SwimPaddleRun event that was scheduled to take place in Raja Ampat, Indonesia on 11 June 2020, has been postponed to 10 June 2021

Swim Paddle Run Indonesia

The EPICBLUE SwimRun event that was scheduled to take place in Izmir, Turkey on 26 July 2020, has been postponed to 24 July 2021

SwimRun Italy

Those who have already registered and paid the inscription fees can either choose to be refunded or have their registration and payment cross over to the 2021 event.

Together with our esteemed partners and sponsors, we would like to share our deepest sympathies to all those affected by this virus.
